| Taking the Vanguard Method in-house |

Internal consultants are taught the Vanguard Method
through practical means. The Method can only be learned through doing.
There are five stages in consultant development:
- Understanding the fundamentals of check and re-design using Vanguard extensive portfolio of case studies.
- Working as a 'number two' to a Vanguard expert.
- Taking responsibility for jointly leading an intervention with a Vanguard expert.
- A competent Vanguard interventionist, seeking support only as required.
- Competent to train others in the Vanguard Method.
